Alejandro Acien received the MSc in Electrical Engineering in 2015 from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. In October 2016, he started his PhD studies focused in: Behavioural Biometrics, Human-Machine Interaction, Cognitive Biometric Authentication, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

Fernando Alonso-Fernandez received the M.S. degree in 2003 with Distinction and the Ph.D. degree "cum laude" in 2008, both in Electrical Engineering, from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain. He is currently the recipient of a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship of the Spanish Ministry of Innovation and Science. His research interests include signal and image processing, pattern recognition and biometrics. He has published several journal and conference papers and he is actively involved in European projects focused on biometrics (e.g, Biosecure NoE, COST 2101). He has participated in the development of several systems for a number of biometric evaluations (e.g. SigComp 2009- Signature Competition, LivDet 2009-Fingerprint Liveness Detection Competition or BMEC 2007-The Biosecure Multimodal Evaluation Campaign). Dr. Alonso-Fernandez has been invited researcher in the Signals and Systems group (University of Twente, The Netherlands), the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica ed Elettronica (University of Cagliari, Italy), the Department of Electronics (University of Kent, United Kingdom) and the Dépt. Electronique et Physique (Institut National des Télécommunications, France).

Javier Burgues is pursuing the MSc degree in Electrical Engineering in Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Since September of 2007, he is with the Biometric Recognition Group - ATVS at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where he is currently collaborating as an assistant researcher. His current research focuses on automatic biometric identification systems based on hand geometry and texture.

Manuel R. Freire received his Engineering degree in Computer Science from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in 2006 and his M.Sc. degree from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in 2008. Since 2006 he is a research assistant at the Biometric Recognition Group - ATVS at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, where he studies new applications in the field of biometrics and cryptography. He has participated in several European and Spanish research projects. He was awarded a Google Summer of Code grant in 2005 for the development of the open source cryptographic application BPG, mentored by the NetBSD Foundation. In 2007 he received a CPI research fellowship from Comunidad de Madrid.

Javier Galbally received the M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 2005 from Universidad de Cantabria, Spain, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2009, from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, where he is currently working as an assistant professor. He has carried out different research internships at worldwide leading groups in biometric recognition such as BioLab from Universita di Bologna Italy, IDIAP Research Institute in Switzerland, the Scribens Laboratory at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal in Canada, or the Integrated Pattern Recognition and Biometrics Laboratory (i-PRoBe) at the West Virginia University in the USA. His research interests are mainly focused on the security evaluation of biometric systems, but also include pattern and biometric recognition, synthetic generation of biometric traits and inverse biometrics. He is actively involved in European projects focused on vulnerability assessment of biometrics (e.g, STREP Tabula Rasa, STREP BEAT) and is the recipient of a number of distinctions, including: IBM Best Student Paper Award at ICPR 2008, finalist of the EBF European Biometric Research Award 2009, and Best Ph.D. Thesis Award by the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid 2010.

Marta Gomez-Barrero received the MSc in Computer Science and the MSc in Mathematics in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2016, both from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain. She joined the Biometric Recognition Group - ATVS at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in 2010, where she is working as an assistant researcher. In 2012 she was awarded with a FPU research fellowship from Spanish MECD and in 2013 obtained the postgraduate Master in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from UAM. She has carried out research internships at several worldwide leading groups in biometric recognition such as da/sec - Biometrics and Internet Security Research Group, at the Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany, the Norwegian Biometrics Laboratory, part of the NISlab - Norwegian Information Security laboratory, at NTNU i Gjøvik, and the COMLAB, at Università degli Studi Roma Tre, Italy. Her current research focuses on vulnerabilities evaluations and template protection schemes for facial, iris- and signature-based recognition systems. She is the recipient of a number of distinctions, including: EAB European Biometric Industry Award 2015, Siew-Sngiem Best Paper Award at ICB 2015, Archimedes Award for young researches from Spanish MECD and Best Voted Poster Paper Award at ICB 2013.

Marcos Martinez-Diaz received the MSc degree in Electrical Engineering in 2006 from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain. He was awarded for the highest academic records of his graduating class. He worked as an IT strategy consultant in Deloitte until 2007. Currently he is working in the technology area of a telecom operator. Since 2005 he is with the Biometric Recognition Group - ATVS, where he is currently collaborating as an assistant researcher pursuing the PhD degree. His research interests include biometrics, pattern recognition and signal processing primarily focused on signature verification.

Aythami Morales Moreno received his M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 2006 from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He received his Ph.D degree from La Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2011. He performs his research works in the ATVS - Biometric Recognition Group at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and he has performed research stays at the Biometric Research Laboratory at Michigan State University, the Biometric Research Center at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Biometric System Laboratory at University of Bologna. His research interests are focused on pattern recognition, computer vision, machine learning and biometrics signal processing. He has received awards from ULPGC, La Caja de Canarias, SPEGC, and COIT. Miriam Moreno-Moreno received the MSc in Physics in 2004 from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM). From 2004 to 2008 she worked as an assistant researcher in the New Microscopies Lab, LNM, UAM. In January 2009, she joined the Biometric Recognition Group – ATVS, where she is currently collaborating as an assistant researcher pursuing the PhD degree. Since 2005 she combines her research activities with her Electrical Engineering studies. The research activity she is currently involved in is the biometric recognition through images acquired beyond the visible spectrum (Biometrics Beyond the Visible Spectrum). In 2009 she received a CPI research fellowship from Comunidad de Madrid.

(In 2022) Derlin Morocho received the degree in Electronic Engineering in Telecommunications in March 1996 at Escuela Politecnica del Ejercito (ESPE), Ecuador. He was a Professor at the ESPE from March 1996 to 2021 where he researched on Digital Signal Processing and supervised several students. He passed away in 2021 due to COVID. RIP.

Ada Pozo received the BSc in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, in 2017. Since fall 2017 she will be studying the MSc in Computer Science at EPFL, Swizerland, thanks to the 2017 scholarship for abroad postgraduate studies from Mutua Madrile˜na Foundation. In 2016, she was awarded a grant as Research Assistant from MECD with the Biometric Recognition Group at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. Her current research interests include pattern recognition and signal processing.

Ram Prasad received his Master's degree in Computer Science from Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), India in 2008. Starting from Dec 2007 till June 2008, he has worked as Research Intern at R&D Dept, Geodesic Limited, Bangalore, India, working on Online Handwriting Recognition as part of Master's thesis, and from July 2008 to March 2011, he was a Software Engineer working for R&D Dept, Geodesic Limited, Bangalore, India specializing on Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Algorithms for Automated Fingerprint Recognition System, and Handwriting Recognition. He is currently a PhD student in the Biometric Recognition Group - ATVS, Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, supervised by Prof. Julian Fierrez, since May 2011 under Marie Curie funded ITN-Project "BBfor2 - Bayesian Biometrics for Forensics" focusing on developing new Image Processing and Pattern Recognition algorithms specific to latent data.

Ruben Tolosana received the MSc in Electrical Engineering in 2014 from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. In April 2014, he started his PhD studies. In 2015 he was awarded with a FPU research fellowship from Spanish MECD. The research activity he is currently involved in is dynamic signature recognition, paying special interest to compensation of device inter-operability and aging problems, fusion of systems and Deep Learning.

Pedro Tome received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in June 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2013 from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM), Spain. Since 2007, he is with the Biometric Recognition Group - ATVS at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, where he is currently working as an assistant researcher. He has carried out different research internships in worldwide leading groups in biometric recognition such as Image and Information Engineering Lab from Kent University, Canterbury UK, CSPC - Communication Signal Processing and Control group from Southampton University, UK, and Security and Surveillance Research Group – SAS, from University of Queensland, Australia. His research interests include signal and image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision and biometrics. His current research are focused on biometrics at a distance and videosurveillance, using face and iris recognition and he is actively involved in forensic face evaluation.

Ruben Vera-Rodriguez received the MSc degree in telecommunications engineering from the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, in 2006, and the PhD degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Swansea University, United Kingdom, in 2010. Since 2010 he has been affiliated with Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, first as the recipient of a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Innovation and Sciences, and currently as an assistant professor. His research interests include signal and image processing, pattern recognition, and biometrics. In 2007, he received the Best Paper Award at the Fourth International Summer School on Biometrics, held in Alghero, Italy, by top international researchers in the field.

Ruifang Wang achieved the MSc degree in Computer Application Technology as a joint master in Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences(CASIA, China) and Harbin University of Science and Technology(China) in 2010. Now she is pursuing the PhD studies with the Biometric Recognition Group - ATVS at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid since 2011. Her research interests include image processing, pattern recognition and biometrics, especially forensic multibiometrics. Her current research focuses on forensic palmprint and fingerprint recognition.
